Tragically, La Cheval Knight Royale was killed by lightning on April 10th, 2024. In his nearly 6 years, he was adored by all who met him. He represented his family line and the Morgan horse breed exceptionally well, embodying everything a Morgan and his offspring should be in mind, body, and athletic ability. His loss is unimaginably devastating, and a true horse memorial for those who knew him.
Knight was selected to head our program based on his historic heritage and the immeasurable success of the original government-bred Morgan horse. Continuing the highly prized tradition of excellence for over 115 years, Knight's proven pedigree and superior quality traced back to the most influential and successful bloodlines in the Morgan breed, without any modern bloodlines.
Knight had beautifully balanced athletic movement that was captivating. He was kind, gentle-spirited, and his boldness and intelligence were superior. These remarkable qualities were consistently passed on to his Morgan and non-Morgan offspring for both competition and pleasure. His legacy is that he truly preserved the best of the past for the future of tomorrow, and his descendants will carry his greatness forward.
His sire, UVM Abington, sired many athletes and continued the legacy of his four-time World Champion sire, UVM Promise. Promise sired 216 foals, many of which enjoyed tremendous success in show and sport horse disciplines. He was descended from the esteemed government-bred stallions, Tutor and Stanfield.
La Cheval Knight Royale, a grandson of the prestigious Grand National Champion UVM Tennyson, was a dual performance and in-hand champion. He sired Grand Champions such as UVM Opportunity, Cum Laude Nell, and UVM Windfall (Hall of Fame), with many of his offspring achieving admirable show careers. This lineage highlights the remarkable traits of the Morgan horse breed, celebrated for their athleticism and versatility, ensuring a lasting horse memorial for generations to come.

There will never be a Morgan horse that compares to the loving bond Knight and I shared together, or the kindness he showed everyone who met him. As a cherished part of my horse memorial, he contributed to the breed through his superior 11 descendants. We retained 2 fillies from La Cheval Knight Royale that maintain his regal presence in our lives, and we look forward to Knight's grandget starting to arrive in 2028.
